Just a few weeks previous, the SAR team and the fire department rescued a 90lb dog that had fallen off the edge of the cliff in the exact location that was reproduced in the training. The overhanging cliff was especially challending and the training was a tough one. Incidentally, the dog survived the 80+ foot free fall with a few contusions and some broken teeth. Wow!
For clarity, the pictures were taken from either the top with the systems or from the edge of the overhang. If you can see a black rope guard, that's the edge. If you can see lots of ropes and pulleys, that's the top with the systems.
